EWGA Sister Chapters Events

For many years the EWGA Chapters in the Northern California region have come together to play golf and make new friends.

Until a couple of years ago, each year one chapter would host an event which included two days of golf, a dinner and other fun activities. In 2005 Northeast Bay hosted the event with golf play at the Hiddenbrooke Golf Course on Saturday and Mare Island on Sunday. Saturday was attended by more than 100 EWGA members; and Sunday with 44 players.

Beginning in 2007 the tradition expanded with the Travel League and the California Cup.

The Travel League is a match play team event with sister chapters in Northern California. The League plays over the course of the golf season. Play consists of two chapters with 8 players each in teams of 2. The teams play against each other both as teams and as individuals. Points are awarded and at the end of the season, the team with the most points wins. In 2008, the Northeast Bay Chapter was the winning chapter.

The California Cup, also a match play team event, includes all the EWGA Chapters in California and Nevada. Beginning in 2007, chapters fielded teams of 8 to 12 players who play 2-person-teams alternate shot or best ball on the first day followed by singles match play the second day. Included in the price of play is a welcome reception and an awards dinner.
