Credit Card Update
Visa and Mastercard Only
We have now updated the website to accept only Visa and Mastercard. As stated in last week's eBlast, there are extra charges associated with use of American Express that led to our decision to restrict payments to Visa, Mastercard, and, of course, check.

First 9 hole event!
Monarch Bay, March 21
 Whether you're new to golf, want to work on your short game, or just want to play and still have time for lunch or shopping later - 9-hole events offer something for everyone. Our chapter has scheduled 9-hole events monthly this year and we hope you'll join us. This is a great way to meet new people, practice your golf game and have fun. Check out the Events schedule and mark your calendars for these 9-hole events. Guests are welcome too! Golf Clinic - Education Committee
March 21 at Franklin Canyon
We have our first golf clinic of the year. Mark your calendar for Saturday March 21st at 11:00am at Franklin Canyon Golf Course.
It is $30 for a 1-hour lesson. Franklin Canyon's Pro will focus on chipping, putting and driver. Includes lunch, range balls and golf - scramble format.
Lesson will begin at 11:00am
Lunch 12 to 12:30
Tee times will begin at 12:30

Member-Get-A-Member Campaign
Win a one-year free membership!
We're starting the year with the Member-Get-A-Member (MGAM) Campaign. From now until the end-of-the-year event in October every member who recruits a new member for our chapter and is recorded as the recruiter on the EWGA website (by entering your name on the new member's application form in the appropriate area) will be eligible for a variety of prizes.
The grand prize of a one year Classic-level membership will go to the member who recruits the most new members (minimum 3 new members). Two runners up will receive either Nike sunglasses (value $99) or Nike watch (value $79). All remaining recruiters will be eligible for the remaining prizes donated by Nike through a drawing. For each new member you recruit, your name will be entered into the drawing. The more members recruited the more chances to win! All prizes will be awarded at the end-of-the-year event. The Membership Chair and her committee members are not eligible for any of these prizes.
Start recruiting! The kickoff event is a great place to bring your friends! In addition, the names of new members who join at the kickoff will be entered into a drawing for a special prize at the kickoff.

Changes to EWGA Championship
If you're planning on playing in the Chapter Championship, you should be aware that the EWGA Championship Committee has made some policy changes for 2009. The changes effect both stroke and scramble play. For a complete list of the changes, see January 16, 2009's the par-tee line.

2009 EWGA Championship
Chapter Championship, Semi-finals & Finals
The Chapter Championship will be held at Franklin Canyon on June 13.
The semi-finals for the Northern California section will be held at Lincoln Hills Golf Course in Lincoln, Ca. (about 1/2 hour north east of Sacramento off Hwy 80) on Saturday, July 25, 2009.
The EWGA finals will be held at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida on Friday and Saturday, September 25th and 26th.

California Senior Women's Amateur Championship
May 18-20, 2009
The Senior Women's Amateur Championship will be held May 18, 19, and 20 at Corral de Tierra Golf Club in Salinas. Entry fee is $275 for 3 rounds of competitive stroke play (includes green fees, golf carts, Monday night reception & Wednesday Awards Luncheon). Click here for more information and entry form. Open to female amateurs with USGA Handicap Indexes 22.3 or lower. Age Limit: 50 years and over on or before May 18, 2009. (Super Senior's Flight: 70 years and over)

Nationwide Tour Stonebrae Classic
March 30-April 5, 2009
Interested in volunteering for the Nationwide Tour Stonebrae Classic at TPC San Francisco Bay? The tournament director has asked us to put together a group to marshal a hole which will get the chapter credit in the tournament program. The cost is $80 (includes a pullover, shirt, hat or visor, lapel pin, credentials, parking, meals during your volunteer hours, and 3 admission tickets).
