Special thanks to long time EWGA Members

The Board would like to recognize two of our members for their long connection to the EWGA.  Barbara Clement has been a member since 6-20-00 and Julie DeLisle has been a member since 6-18-01.  Sadly, Julie has moved to Texas, so she'll be moving her membership to a chapter there.

Barbara plays in two bluegrass bands.  They play at local farmer's markets.  She joined our Chapter to lend support when we first started out and continues to renew her membership even though she's rarely able to come out and play with us.  This weekend she'll be playing at the Orinda farmer's market on Saturday and the Walnut Creek farmer's market on Sunday.

Thanks to both for their continued support!
California Cup Results

Ten EWGA chapters and one potluck team contended on October 17 and 18 for the California Cup.  The weather was just about perfect and the course as challenging as ever. The Cup was won by the Northern Nevada chapter, who were competing in the California Cup for the first time, with twelve points.  They won in a card off after tying Sacramento.

NEB was represented by Pat Block, Dorene Davis, Cathy Pementell, Joanne Segovia, Lynn Sletto, and Jane Taylorson.  To fill out the field, a couple of Santa Barbara members who had only planned to do Fun Play competed for our team.

Sadly, we didn't win.  We did get four points - Dorene/Joanne and Cathy/Jane halved their paired matches, and Dorene, Cathy, and Jane won their singles matches.  Nearly all the matches both days went to the final hole.  Dorene and Cathy stood out, with 4-and-3 and 3-and-2 victories, respectively, in the singles.
