CHAPTER CHAMPIONSHIP
GET READY TO COMPETE!
A Message from Bridget Albosta:
Ladies! This is your opportunity to have some fun and competition in our annual Chapter Championship! I have played in many competitive events, and find that this one is set up to allow every one a sound opportunity to compete and proceed on through the next events and represent the NEB Chapter! You can participate in either the stroke play or scramble event. The stroke play is set up in flights according to handicap. You will be playing among your peers and with and against players of similar levels of ability. For those that enjoy playing with partners, you can enter as a scramble team. This allows teams of four to compete with one team score. Please see the STROKE and SCRAMBLE information to help you determine the format that is most suitable for you.
We will have on-the-course rules members to help address any questions to insure every one has an equal chance of moving forward. Plus, the pre-event rules discussion with a USGA expert helps highlight the rules we tend to run into during competitive play (and is a great chance to reinforce them for all of us and how to apply them if we have situations during play.) While there is some extra adrenalin in all competitive events, I highly encourage this opportunity within our chapter in either the stroke or scramble events! The NEB chapter has been highly competitive in our state-wide EWGA and sister events, so I hope to see many of your out there on JUNE 13th to represent yourself and our club! The friendships and comradery you have in these types of events is incredible! I've been lucky enough to be allowed to move on to the Nationals again this year, and hope to see many familiar faces from this group in Florida in September!
AND please note ... Franklin is giving participants discounts on practice rounds played during the 3 weeks prior to the championship. Click here for all information regarding the championship, including discount coupons.

Vintner's Results
Saturday, May 9, 2009
Twenty-eight members, family and friends teed off at Vintner's on Saturday, May 9 for a scramble tournament. The fun began with a putting contest, won by Tom Lamothe with 8 putts over 4 "holes". The prize was a new putter.
1st place team: Cathy and Ken Pementell and Joanne and Victor Segovia won with a 58 net, 3 shots better than the 2nd place team - the prize was a round of golf at Lone Tree. Last place was won by the team of Ida Centoni, Margaret Hamersley, Paula Heckler, and Paul Mostipak - the prize was a bottle of wine for each team member.
Closest to the pin (hole 8): Paul Mostipak
Closest to the pin (hole 11): Cathy Pementell
Most accurate drive (men): Ken Pementell
Most accurate drive (women): Joanne Wood
50/50 pot: Lisa Fox and Gary Taylor
Closest to the pin winners each won a round of golf at Franklin Canyon. Most accurate drive winners each received a box of golf balls.
Drawings were held for a number of items: clubs, books, clothes, shoes, wine, and more. An auction for a foursome at Mira Vista was won by Shane Scibelli.
A wonderful time was had by all. The chapter raised $1150 for this year's charity, Wardrobe for Opportunity.
Hope to see everyone again next year!
