 It's time
again for our very popular Vintner Golf Event. This event
benefits our charities: Wardrobe for Opportuinty and LPGA-USGA Girls
Golf.
Vintner's Golf Course is located in the Napa
Valley in Yountville off Highway 29. (It's a 9-hole course but
we go around twice from different tees.) This is a fun 18-hole
scramble event that includes free range balls, games
and prizes, goody bags and concludes with a delicious
hot lunch after the event.
The cost of this event is $90 and the deadline to register is Friday, May
23rd. (After May 23rd the cost will be $100 if space is
still available, includes $10 late fee.) We will also sell
tickets at the event for mulligans, split-the-pot and raffle
bags. There will also be an auction for special items.
Shotgun start at 9:30am. Please check in at the course
no later than 9:00am.

Women in Golf Day at
Monarch Bay GC

golfers with a clinic, BBQ lunch and 9 holes of golf at the
Marina Executive Golf Course for $45. Raffle
prizes are also included.

Business Golf for
Women

Poppy Ridge Golf
Course in Livermore is having their 3rd annual breakfast,
seminar, clinic, box lunch, 9-holes of "best ball"
golf followed by a networking reception.

clinic ($49) or the full day 9-5pm ($89) by clicking

Ladies Night at
Tilden
Wednesday, June 4th,
5-8pm
For Women's Golf Month, Tilden
Golf Course in the Berkeley hills is having a "Ladies
Night" playing opportunity.
It will be a non-competitive fun atmosphere to meet and
socialize with other women golfers of all skill levels.
Cost is $19 (paid at the course) and includes golf, range
balls, drink ticket and a $5 donation to the Susan G. Komen
fund.

13th Annual LPGA Longs
Drugs Challenge - at Blackhawk
Volunteers
Needed
The link is now up for those who want
to work the LPGA at Blackhawk in Danville October
9-12th. Once again EWGA will have the 9th hole to marshal
Thursday through Sunday. We are accepting volunteers from all
EWGA chapters. Spouses, significant others and experienced
golfers are welcome to volunteer as well. (Marshals are
in charge of gallery control along the fairway, around the tee box
and green. It's very easy duty and you get to see the pros up
close and personal! You may also be on TV!)

questions. Also, be sure to email Alice once you've registered
online so she can include you in the EWGA group.

defeated Lorena Ochoa on the 2nd hole of a sudden
death playoff.

2008 S.W.I.N.G. (Skillful Women Inspiring New
Golfers) Program?  Please email education@ewganeb.org and specify if you're
interested in being a mentor (experienced golfer willing to guide a
new golfer in golf etiquette and pace of play and pair up with that
new golfer at some fun golf events) or mentee (new golfer). An
Education Committee member will contact you.

9-Holes at
Dublin Ranch GC

Join us for 9 holes of golf at the
Dublin Ranch Golf Course in Dublin. The front
nine is a par 31 with 6 challenging par 3 holes.
Cost is $37.50 and includes a motor cart and a lot of

2008 Chapter
Championship - Registration Now
Open

 It's time to
register for our annual Chapter Championship! This year this
qualifying event is taking place at Franklin Canyon Golf
Course in Hercules. This is an EWGA Members Only
event.
Requirements include: posting a minimum
of three 18-hole scores or six-9 hole scores between Jan
1st through May 31, 2008 on your EWGA GLM system or NCGA
system; and having a handicap no higher than 40.4 as of June
1st.
USGA Rules apply. A free Rules seminar, presented again
this year by KC Cote, NCGA rules
official, will precede the event and will be open to all
members, playing or not.
Members will play in one of 4 flights
according to their handicap or self-arranged scramble teams.
Two winners from each flight (Low Gross and Low Net) and one
scramble team will advance to the semi-finals at
Summitpointe Golf Course in Milpitas on July 26th
(mark your calendar!).
Cost is $105 and includes fees, motor cart, luncheon
and awards presentation. The deadline to register is
June 6th. (There will be NO extensions of this date or
late adds.) Registration includes on-line registration,
payment AND completion of the Registration/Entry form mailed to
Pat Block at the address on the form. Pat
needs to receive the form no later than June 6th.
