18-hole event. Blue Rock Springs Golf Course
is located in Vallejo at 655 Columbus Parkway.
Cost is $55 ($65 after 4/23 if space is available) and includes
green fees, cart, prizes, water, snack and lots of
fun.
Deadline to register is April
23rd.

Franklin Clinic, lunch,
9-holes (1 space left)

 This
clinic was originally scheduled for March 15th but had to be
postponed due to weather. It is now scheduled for
April 26th and
there is ONE space left at the
time of this eblast mailing.
Cost is $35 (includes $10 late fee) and includes a lesson,
lunch and 9-holes of golf at Franklin Canyon GC on Highway 4 in
Hercules.

Leadership - Looking for
Twilight Play Coordinator
Tuesdays at
Boundary Oaks in Walnut Creek
We'd like to add
Tuesday night twilight play for the Northwast Bay Chapter at
Boundary Oaks. Before this can begin, we need to have a
coordinator. This requires coordinating among the chapter
members as to who is interested for each Tuesday and letting the
course know who to expect.

2008 S.W.I.N.G. (Skillful Women Inspiring New
Golfers) Program?  Please email education@ewganeb.org and specify if you're
interested in being a mentor (experienced golfer willing to guide a
new golfer in golf etiquette and pace of play and pair up with that
new golfer at some fun golf events) or mentee (new golfer). An
Education Committee member will contact you.

Paradise Valley
Results
Last Saturday
Nineteen
members and guests participated in a windy game of Bingo-Bango-Bongo
at Paradise Valley Golf Course last Saturday.
Points were given to the person first on the green (Bingo),
closest to the hole once everyone was on the green (Bango) and first
in the hole (Bongo).
The 1st place winner with 22 points was Donna
Soltis. Second place with 18 points was Patty
Chin. Last place (but still a winner with 10
points) was Patty Deutsche.
Closest to the Pin:
Hole #3 (147 yards over barranca)AND Hole #12 (89 yards)

Longest Drive - Pat Block
All the above winners received gift cards to the pro shop.
Most lost balls (4) - Mary Beth Foster, Susan Spann,
Patty Deutsche, and Laurie Kehl all tied
and each received a sleeve of balls.
Mary Jane Hodges was the only member to have a
"chip-in" from off the green and received an EWGA towel.
Cathy Pementell won the drawing from the first
12 to register for the event and won a hat clip ball
marker. |
Traveling League Match
Play Results
April 6th
event
NEB defeated the Sonoma-Marin-Napa
chapter at Franklin Canyon 14 to 10. It was a great
competition and all of the teams were very evenly matched.
Congratulations to the following people for helping to deliver the
win:

Our next match will be on Sunday, June 1st at Franklin Canyon
(our home course and site of the 2008 Chapter Championship).
We will be putting the team together by late May.

Tilden
Clinic
Sunday, May 18th,
10-12noon
This is our "Breaking 100" clinic
designed for the golfer who is trying to improve their approach
shots (less than 100 yards).
Trish Hinze, Director of Golf Instruction at
Tilden Golf Course in the Berkeley hills, will be
conducting the clinic. She'll cover the short, approach shots
teaching us how to use various wedges and we'll also learn how to
get out of greenside bunkers.
Cost is $50 and the deadline to register is Saturday, May
3rd. Space is limited.

Stevinson Ranch - Stay and
Play package
May 24th,
Saturday
We have a Stay and Play package at
Stevinson Ranch for Saturday, May 24th returning
Sunday (Memorial Day weekend). Space is limited and
the deadline to
register is April 24th. Stevinson
Ranch is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes from Walnut Creek
heading south on Hwy 5.
The package includes 1 round (18-holes) of golf with cart,
unlimited use of range, social hour, dinner, overnight in a nice
cottage, and breakfast for $185 per person double
occupancy.
Carpooling will be available.
Contact Ginny Taylor ASAP
if you plan on registering before the deadline so she knows how many
cottages to reserve.

If you would like to play 9-holes of
twilight golf at Franklin Canyon GC (Hwy
4) this Friday, please contact Pat Block
(instead of Ginny Taylor) by Wednesday
morning. Ginny is unavailable this week but will return
next week.
Cost is $12 to walk or $18 to ride and includes a drink
ticket. Pay at the course.

Positas Executive
Course
Livermore, May 10th,

Our next 9-hole event is at the
Las Positas Executive Course near the Livermore
airport off Hwy 580 at 9:00am.
Cost is $20.50 to walk (no electric/gas carts allowed).
$3 extra if you need to rent a pull cart.
Deadline to register is Wednesday, April 30th.
Space is limited.
