Callippe It's time to register for our next golf event.  Callippe Preserve Golf Course is located in Pleasanton off Hwy 680.  There will be a special drawing for the first 12 to register.

We are getting a special green fee rate of $67 because the greens will be aerated on 3/24 & 3/25.  The fee includes a shared cart, range balls and prizes.  Scramble format is planned but stroke play is available for those who want to post.  Indicate your preference on the registration form.

Deadline to register is March 19th.  ($10 late fee after 3/19 if space is available.)  Click here to register.

Trish Powell - Congratulations !
Volunteer of the Month

Trish Powell What better way to start 2008 than to recognize our first Volunteer of the Month.  Trish has been instrumental in putting together the member surveys that allow the board and committees to plan exactly what you want.  Thank you Trish!

And behind every great volunteer - there is a great story.  Trish transferred to the Northeast Bay Chapter in 2007 from the San Francisco Chapter.  In addition to her welcome skills behind the scenes Trish brings strong golf skills as well.

Trish began golf at the age of 12 and continued through high school where she was a member of the Boys team - no other girls were involved in the sport at her high school.  While attending the University of Texas for graduate school, Trish also honed her golf skills, achieving a 12 handicap.

Interesting to know that golf wasn't the only sport Trish was involved in while she was growing up.  In addition to golf, she played softball, varsity tennis, and volleyball.  However, golf has always been a favorite and she has had the opportunity to learn from the best - LPGA founder Shirley Spork at the Golf School in San Diego; and Pia Nilsson and Lyn Marriott "Golf 54".  (Pia is Annika's former golf instructor).

So "what's in the bag" for Trish?  Callaway Fusion FT-3 driver, Mizuno irons with custom shafts and a Scotty Cameron mallet putter.  Trish is definately serious!  Thank you Trish for being a part of the Northeast Bay chapter!  As part of her recognition, Trish was presented with an EWGA logo'd scarf from Talbots.

Volunteer Awards
Your help is always appreciated

This year we will be focusing on the importance of all of our volunteers.  Each volunteer will receive a surprise gift at every event!  Every time you volunteer you will earn a ticket to be entered into a drawing at the end of the year awards event.  (The more you volunteer, the more chances you have to win!)  Only volunteers will be eligible for this special drawing.  There will be more than one winner!  We always need helpers for each event, such as check-in, scoring, passing out water, snacks, etc.
