Callippe Preserve GC - Our next 18-hole golf event
Saturday, March 29th - 11am

Callippe It's time to register for our next golf event.  Callippe Preserve Golf Course is located in Pleasanton off Hwy 680.  There will be a special drawing for the first 12 to register.

We are getting a special green fee rate of $67 because the greens will be aerated on 3/24 & 3/25.  The fee includes a shared cart, range balls and prizes.  Scramble format is planned but stroke play is available for those who want to post.  Indicate your preference on the registration form.

Deadline to register is March 19th.  ($10 late fee after 3/19 if space is available.)  Click here to register.

The Kick-Off was a big success!

Lone Tree GC Clubhouse The Lone Tree Golf Course in Antioch was the setting for our kick-off last Saturday

Approximately 60 members and guests attended and enjoyed a buffet breakfast and program.  Our president, Alice Miller, introduced the board and chairs and speakers from Kepler's Golf Repair and Las Positas Golf Course.  Over 20 items, ranging from gift baskets and gift certificates to facials, a designer handbag, experienced golf clubs and much more were won in a silent drawing.

Forty-three golfers played in a scramble format.
Closest to the pin:
  Hole #5 - Trish Powell - 30 ft
  Hole #17 - Jan Bridges - 18 ft
Longest drive:
  Hole #13 - Jane Taylorson - 200 yds
50/50 mulligan pot - Gloria Speth $160
Low net team with a 64 went to Pat Block, Barbara Competello, Trish Powell, and Patricia Ramirez.

Everyone had a great time!
(Oh yes! We can't forget new member Donna Coll's 230 yard drive (with downhill assist) on the par 4 hole#4 - way to go Donna!)

Thanks to all the members who volunteered their time to make this event a GREAT event:

Lora Lee Del Rosario, Cathy Pementell, Meredith Pence, Ginny Taylor, Marlene Seffern, Jane Taylorson, Pat Block, Ilene Marshall, Mary Ann Pate, Mary Jane Hodges, Margaret Hamersley, Donna Wagner, Paula Heckler, Alice Miller, Ann Marie McGee, Joanne Segovia and Sharon Iversen.

2008 Northern California Match League Play
Traveling League

Woman in CartThe Northern California chapters will be starting match play league competition next month.  We will be playing the first Sunday of every month against a team from either Sonoma/Marin, San Francisco or Sacramento.  We are attempting to secure Franklin Canyon as our home course for all of our home events (NEB Hosts).

There will be four matches taking place with 2 players from each team on the designated Sunday. Each match will have a head to head component plus a team component for the foursome.  We will be adjusting the teams based on handicap so that you will be competing against players of similar caliber.  More details on the format and rules will be forthcoming.

If you are interested in participating in the league play, please send your name, email address, cell phone/contact #, preferred dates (see below) and your current handicap index to Barbara Competello at bcompetello@yahoo.com or call her cell phone at 415-999-3353.
