LPGA & Charles Schwab Cup
Volunteers Needed
Get up close and personal with the
professional golfers. Volunteers are needed to Marshal at both
events. When you volunteer you have free admission into the
event as well.
The Longs Challenge - LPGA will be at
Blackhawk Country Club in Danville October 1-7 and the
Charles Schwab Cup (PGA senior men) will be at the
Sonoma National Golf Course in Sonoma, Ca. on October
22-28.
What do Marshals do? They are in charge of gallery
control along each fairway, around the tee box and green. It's
very easy duty and you get to see the pros up close and
personal.
We are specifically seeking volunteers to work the LPGA at
Blackhawk. If we get enough people to come out we will have
exclusivity for a single hole and get recognition for EWGA.
MAYBE even be on TV! We need at least 8 people per day,
Thursday - Sunday. The day can be split into 1/2 day shifts,
then more people are required (we need 8 people on duty at one
time). The rules require you to commit to two shifts (morning
or afternoon). Spouses and significant others are also
welcome.
To sign up just log on to either of the following web sites and
please be sure to indicate you are with EWGA.
To be sure you get included in the EWGA group, please e-mail
Alice once you've registered online: president@ewganeb.org

2008
Committees Are You Ready to
Volunteer?
Although 2007 is
winding down, some of our committees are starting to gear up
for 2008. Our chapter is managed 100% by member
volunteers who have an interest to provide opportunities
for women to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf.
Volunteering can be very rewarding. It can
give you a direct voice in how your chapter is managed or it
can give you a chance to give back to your
chapter. New ideas are always welcome. Become an
active member in the success of your chapter.
The Events Committee will soon be
selecting courses to play for 2008. Contacts,
pricing and arrangments will need to be made well
before the 2008 season begins. Members also assist with
games, prizes, etc. New members are needed. This
committee is also looking for a new Traveling League
captain for 2008. (Thanks Pat Block for
volunteering as Traveling League captain this past year.)
The Social Committee will arrange and prepare
for the Kick-Off breakfast/brunch months before the March
date. This committee also is involved in the Year End and
other social meetings throughout the year.
Other committees include:
- Leadership
- Membership
- Sponsorship
- Communications
- Education
- Handicap
All of these committees are looking for new members for
the new year and can use your help.
If you would like to join a committee for the new year or would
like to know more about any of the chapter committees, please
contact the Leadership Chair, Ann Marie McGee at leadership@ewganeb.org

Also, on Friday 9/28 and 10/5 we will not be able to
