EWGANEB Golf Event at Mare
Island GC, Vallejo
Saturday, September

 Another favorite golf
course is the Mare Island GC in Vallejo with
it's views of San Pablo Bay, the Sacramento River Delta,
Mt. Tamalpias and the city of Vallejo. It is a
hilly course and is often windy but the views are
fantastic! Formerly on a military base - behind the 9th
green is a snack shack that is in a hillside ammunition
bunker!
Par 70 course. Rating and slope from red tees are 68.7/113 with
4872 yards; white tees are 68.0/121 and is 5788 yds.
Cost is $55 ($65 after 8/29 if space is available) and includes
a shared cart, water, games and prizes.

Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Thursday Sept. 20th
NCGA Members Only The
NCGA is scheduling members-only outings once per month.
If you are an NCGA member and would like to play Half
Moon Bay Links on Thursday, September 20th then register
now. This one is going fast. Men and women are
invited.
8:30am Shotgun. Entry fee is $140 and includes golf fees, cart,
practice facility (no range at course), Nike tee prize, and a BBQ
lunch after the event. A no-host bar will also be available
following the event. Prizes too!
Deadline ro register is Saturday, September 7th.

Pilates for the Woman
Golfer
Sunday, Sept. 30
3-5pm
2-Hour Introductory session.
Did you know that many of the world's best golfers train The
Pilates Method? Tiger Woods, Annika Sorrenstam have
incorporated Pilates into their training regimen and the result are
clear!
Cost is $35.
Located at the Women's Health Center, 1656 N. California Blvd.,
Walnut Creek.

Dublin Ranch GC
Twilight golf has arrived
in the 680 Corridor area. We now have tee times starting at
5:20pm at Dublin Ranch on Wednesday afternoons.
The cost is $25 and covers golf and cart.

Travel League
Results and Plans for 2008
EWGANEB
tied for 3rd place
 The 5th and final
competition of match play for this year was held on August 19th
at Franklin Canyon GC against San Francisco team #1. We tied
that game at 12 points each.
San Francisco team #1 came in first place for the year overall
with 71 points. Sacramento came in 2nd place with 68 points,
and Northeast Bay and Sonoma Marin tied for 3rd
place with 67 points. Auburn came in 4th place with 53 points
and San Francisco team #2 came in 5th place with 34 points.

our 2007 Team Captain for all her work
We are already planning for the Travel League match play dates
for 2008. They will all be on Sundays: April 6th, May
4th, June 1st, July 13th, August 3rd, September 7th, and October
5th. We will be gathering names of members to play at a future
date.
Our chapter is looking for a new team captain for next
year. If anyone is interested contact Ann Marie

LPGA & Charles Schwab Cup
Volunteers Needed
Get up close and personal with the
professional golfers. Volunteers are needed to Marshal at both
events. When you volunteer you have free admission into the
event as well.
The Longs Challenge - LPGA will be at
Blackhawk Country Club in Danville October 1-7 and the
Charles Schwab Cup (PGA senior men) will be at the
Sonoma National Golf Course in Sonoma, Ca. on October
22-28.
What do Marshals do? They are in charge of gallery
control along each fairway, around the tee box and green. It's
very easy duty and you get to see the pros up close and
personal.
We are specifically seeking volunteers to work the LPGA at
Blackhawk. If we get enough people to come out we will have
exclusivity for a single hole and get recognition for EWGA.
MAYBE even be on TV! We need at least 8 people per day,
Thursday - Sunday. The day can be split into 1/2 day shifts,
then more people are required (we need 8 people on duty at one
time). The rules require you to commit to two shifts (morning
or afternoon). Spouses and significant others are also
welcome.
