EWGA Golf Event at Tilden GC
Saturday, August 25th

Tilden This Saturday we will be playing beautiful Tilden Golf Course located in the Berkeley hills amongst the Redwoods. Tilden has a putting green, practice bunker, chipping area, and multi-level driving range.

Cost is $84 after 8/15 (if room is available) and includes green fees, shared cart, water, games (low net, most accurate and closest to the hole) and prizes.

First tee time is 9:00am.

The Events Committee is looking for one or two volunteers to help check-in members at this event. Contact Pat Block at plblock@comcast.net if you would like to volunteer at this event.

9-Hole Sundays at Monarch Bay - Marina course
Sunday, August 26th

A half-hour clinic by pro, John Bearden, will be followed by 9 holes on the Marina course in San Leandro.

Clinic starts at 12:30pm.

Tee times start at 1:00pm

Sign-in and pay for clinic and 9 holes in pro shop prior to clinic.

The Marina 9 hole executive course is all 3 and 4 pars. It is a flat course, good for walking and can be completed in 2 hours.

Cost is $22 and includes clinic and 9 holes. Push cart or electric cart is extra.

Hiddenbrooke GC -
Beat the Heat Challenge
Monday, August 27th

All men and women are invited to this 8am Shot Gun Start (stroke play).

Check in begins at 7:15am.

Warm up on the range until 7:45am.

Every golf cart cooler will be stocked with a Deli-Turkey Sandwich, bag of chips and a bottle of ice cold water for each player.

Three prizes awarded: Low Net on the front nine, back nine, and overall.

$55 public rate includes green fee, cart, and range balls. Payment is due at time of reservation.

Deadline is Wednesday, August 22nd at 5pm.

EWGANEB Golf Event at Mare Island GC, Vallejo
Saturday, September 8th

Another favorite golf course is the Mare Island GC in Vallejo with it's views of San Pablo Bay, the Sacramento River Delta, Mt. Tamalpias and the city of Vallejo. It is a hilly course and is often windy but the views are fantastic! Formerly on a military base - the 10th hole snack shack is in a hillside ammunition bunker!

Par 70 course. Rating and slope from red tees are 68.7/113 with 4872 yards; white tees are 68.0/121 and is 5788 yds.

Cost is $55 ($65 after 8/27 if space is available) and includes a shared cart, water, games and prizes.

Deadline to register is Monday, 8/27.

Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Thursday Sept. 20th

NCGA Members Only

The NCGA is scheduling members-only outings once per month.

If you are an NCGA member and would like to play Half Moon Bay Links on Thursday, September 20th then register now. This one is going fast. Men and women are invited.

8:30am Shotgun. Entry fee is $140 and includes golf fees, cart, practice facility (no range at course), Nike tee prize, and a BBQ lunch after the event. A no-host bar will also be available following the event. Prizes too!

Deadline ro register is Saturday, September 7th. (But don't wait - 69 members have already signed-up.)

Pilates for the Woman Golfer
Sunday, Sept. 30 3-5pm

2-Hour Introductory session.

Did you know that many of the world's best golfers train The Pilates Method? Tiger Woods, Annika Sorrenstam have incorporated Pilates into their training regimen and the result are clear!

Cost is $35.

Located at the Women's Health Center, 1656 N. California Blvd., Walnut Creek.

680 Twilight Golf -
Dublin Ranch GC

Twilight golf has arrived in the 680 Corridor area. We now have tee times starting at 5:20pm at Dublin Ranch on Wednesday afternoons.

The cost is $25 and covers golf and cart.

Volunteers wanted at the Tilden GC event and Mare Island GC event
Have you volunteered yet?

The Events Committee is looking for one or two volunteers to help check-in members at both the Tilden GC event in Berkeley on Saturday, August 25th and/or the Mare Island GC event in Vallejo on Saturday, September 8th. Volunteers can be players at the events.

If you are interested in participating as a volunteer, please contact Pat Block at plblock@comcast.net as soon as possible but no later than 4 days before the event.
