EWGA Golf Event at Tilden GC
Saturday, August 25th

Tilden At the end of this month we will be playing beautiful Tilden Golf Course located in the Berkeley hills amongst the Redwoods. Tilden has a putting green, practice bunker, chipping area, and multi-level driving range.

Cost is $74 ($84 after 8/15 if room is available) and includes green fees, shared cart, water, games and prizes.

Deadline to register is Wednesday, August 15th.

Hiddenbrooke GC -
Beat the Heat Challenge
Monday, August 27th

You're invited to this 8am Shot Gun Start.

Check in begins at 7:15am.

Warm up on the range until 7:45am.

Every golf cart cooler will be stocked with a Deli-Turkey Sandwich, bag of chips and a bottle of ice cold water for each player.

Format: Nassau

Scoring: Stroke Play

Three prizes awarded: Low Net on the front nine, back nine, and overall.

$55 public rate includes green fee, cart, and range balls. Payment is due at time of reservation.

Deadline is Wednesday, August 22nd at 5pm.

Franklin Canyon GC Results

Last Saturday, 13 members participated in this event.

Three winners emerged:

Cindy Race won low gross with a score of 82.

Cathy Pementell won low net with a score of 65 and Ginny Taylor won fewest putts with 31 putts. All received a $25 gift card good at any American Golf course/pro shop.

9-Hole Sundays at Monarch Bay - Marina course
Sunday, August 26th

A half-hour clinic by pro, John Bearden, will be followed by 9 holes on the Marina course in San Leandro.

Clinic starts at 12:30pm.

Tee times start at 1:00pm

Sign-in and pay for clinic and 9 holes in pro shop prior to clinic.

The Marina 9 hold executive course is all 3 and 4 pars. It is a flat course, good for walking and can be completed in 2 hours.

Cost is $22 and includes clinic and 9 holes. Push cart or electric cart is extra.

Deadline to register is Monday, August 20th.

Pilates for the Woman Golfer
Sunday, Sept. 30 3-5pm

2-Hour Introductory session.

Did you know that many of the world's best golfers train The Pilates Method? Tiger Woods, Annika Sorrenstam have incorporated Pilates into their training regimen and the result are clear!

Cost is $35.

Located at the Women's Health Center, 1656 N. California Blvd., Walnut Creek.

Half Moon Bay Golf Links, Sept. 20th

NCGA Members Only

The NCGA is scheduling members-only outings once per month.

If you are an NCGA member and would like to play Half Moon Bay Links on Thursday, September 20th then register now. This one is going fast.

8:30am Shotgun. Entry fee is $140 and includes golf fees, cart, practice facility (no range at course), Nike tee prize, and a BBQ lunch after the event. A no-host bar will also be available following the event. Prizes too!

Deadline ro register is Saturday, September 7th. (But don't wait - 50 members have already signed-up.)

2008 Chapter Elections are coming

As we move through the Elections for our 2008 Elected Board Positions and identify 2008 committee volunteers, members of the nominating committee and friends of the nominating committee will be contacting each chapter member. Our question is the same for each of you - What would you like to do for next year - 2008? It's your chance to let us know your interests and skills that you would like to share with the chapter. We will be calling in the next 3-4 weeks and look forward to talking to each of you!

680 Twilight Golf -
Dublin Ranch GC

Twilight golf has arrived in the 680 Corridor area. We now have tee times starting at 5:20pm at Dublin Ranch on Wednesday afternoons.

The cost is $25 and covers golf and cart.

Volunteers wanted at the Tilden GC event and Mare Island GC event
Have you volunteered yet?

The Events Committee is looking for one or two volunteers to help check-in members at both the Tilden GC event in Berkeley on Saturday, August 25th and/or the Mare Island GC event in Vallejo on Saturday, September 8th.

If you are interested in participating as a volunteer, please contact Pat Block at plblock@comcast.net as soon as possible but no later than 4 days before the event.

First European EWGA Chapter opens in Paris

Founded by Maureen Rabotin this chapter already has 33 members.
