WE'RE GOING TO NASHVILLE
!!!
7 members eligible to
advance! The Semi-Finals at Hiddenbrooke
GC last Saturday started out cool  and calm at 7am and ended
with an awards luncheon, excitement as the results were entered
on the scoreboards, clapping and cheering as the awards were
announced, photos taken and plans being made for Nashville!!!
Our chapter participants did quite well. Our
scramble team, consisting of Donna Soltis, Gloria Speth,
Joyce Glatt, and Diane Yasuda, won with a
Low Net score of 70 beating the Sacramento team by 1 point!
Naomi Iaccarino won first place Low Gross (90)
in the 2nd flight and Pam Schramm won first place
Low Net (68) in the same flight. Our other first place winner
is Jane Taylorson with a Low Gross (92) in the 3rd
flight.
All the above winners can continue on to the finals at
The Hermitage Golf Course in Nashville, Tenn. on
September 7th and 8th.
But there's more!
Pat Block (who was substituting for
Cindy Race) won 2nd place Low Gross with a 94 in
the first flight.
Laurie Kehl won 2nd place Low Gross (102) in
the 4th flight. (Rumor has it that the 1st place winner cannot
go to Nashville and Laurie may be going after all!)
Berta Acker won 3rd place Low Gross (104) in
the 4th flight and Cathy Pementell won 3rd place
Low Net (79) in the 3rd flight.
Congratulations everyone !!
Thanks to our many members who volunteered their
time at the semi-finals and to the "cheering section" who
encouraged our chapter members along the way.

Next EWGA Golf Event at
Franklin Canyon GC
Saturday, August
11th
 Our next 18-hole golf
event will be at Franklin Canyon GC in Hercules
just off of Highway 4 on Saturday, August 11th.
This popular par-72 course has a driving range, putting green,
and chipping area.
The cost is $60 ($70 after 8/1 if there is room) and includes
green fee, shared cart, water, games and prizes!
Deadline to register
is Wednesday, August 1st.

This is a 9-hole shotgun and BBQ.
Check in at 4:15pm, shotgun starts at 5pm.

are coming
As we move through
the Elections for our 2008 Elected Board Positions and
identify 2008 committee volunteers, members of the nominating
committee and friends of the nominating committee will be contacting
each chapter member. Our question is the same for each of you
- What would you like to do for next year -
2008? It's your chance to let us know your interests
and skills that you would like to share with the chapter. We
will be calling in the next 3-4 weeks and look forward to talking to
each of you!

attend the buffets and/or Sunday Awards Luncheon and NOT play
golf.
