Demo Day in
Alameda
Chuck Corica Golf
Complex
 On Saturday, July 21st from 10am to 4pm, the
Churck Corica Golf Complex in Alameda is having a Demo
Day! All the top club manufacturers will be present
including Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, Mizuno, Ping,
Cobra, Nike, MacGregor and
Bridgestone. The Cleveland
tour van will also be on site with their newest drivers, irons
and putters. Custom work on Cleveland equipment purchased at
Demo Day.
Special pricing will be available to Demo Day
participants. BBQ and drinks will be provided by Jim's On The
Course.
The Chuck Corica Golf complex is located at 1
Clubhouse Memorial Drive (off of Island Drive)
in Alameda.

Semi-Final Volunteers Needed at Hiddenbrooke

Caldwell, the District Semi-Final Championship
Administrator for 2007 is looking for volunteers to assist at the
EWGA semi-final tournament at Hiddenbrooke in Vallejo on July 28th.
Opportunities are as follows:
Friday evening 7/27 registration prior to Rules Meeting,
and/or
Saturday 7/28:
Registration 6-9:30am
Spotters 7-10am
Spotters 8-11am
Spotters 9-12noon
Spotters 10-1pm
Spotters 11-2pm
Spotters 12-3pm
Scoreboard 12-3pm
Awards set-up 2-3pm

| Metropolitan GC Results
Nineteen members and guests came to play
at Metropolitan GC last Saturday.
The format was a "One Woman Scramble" where
everyone received a mulligan on every par 3, two mulligans on every
par 4, and three mulligans on every par 5. However, the
maximum score that could be recorded on any hole was bogey (one
stroke over par).
First and second place winners:
Pat Block with a score of 72 and Cindy
Race with a 78.
In addition, Laura Scott won closest to the
hole on the par 3, 83 yard hole #7 at 5 feet 9 inches.
Mardi Diamond won most accurate drive on hole #11
at 5 feet 9 inches from the center line. Kathy
Kirkpatrick won closest to the hole on the par 3, 99 yard
hole #15 at 13 feet 11 inches.
All winners received a $20 gift certificate at the pro
shop.
All players received a $5 food credit and a small bucket of
range balls.

Volunteers wanted for Junior Golf Tournament
Tuesday, July
24th Hayward Area Recreation and Park
District is having a Junior Golf Tournament at Skywest GC on
Tuesday, July 24th starting at 8am.
The participant's ages range from under 9 to 17 years
old. Scorers are needed to walk 9 holes with the 11 year
olds and under age groups. Volunteer Scorers are required to
keep score for 2 players only, make sure participants are giving you
the correct score and conducting themselves properly.

Next EWGA Golf Event at
Franklin Canyon GC
Saturday, August
11th
 Our next 18-hole golf
event will be at Franklin Canyon GC in Hercules
just off of Highway 4 on Saturday, August 11th.
This popular par-72 course has a driving range, putting green,
and chipping area.
The cost is $60 and includes green fee, shared cart, water,
games and prizes!
Deadline to register is Wednesday, August
1st.

9-Hole Sundays at Monarch
Bay - Marina course
Sunday, July
22nd
A half-hour clinic by pro, John
Bearden, will be followed by 9-holes on the Marina course
in San Leandro.
Clinic starts at 12:30pm
Tee times start at 1:00pm
Sign-in and pay for clinic and 9-hole in pro shop prior to
clinic.
The Marina 9-Hole executive course is all 3 and 4 pars.
It is a flat course, good for walking and can be completed in 2
hours.
Cost is $22 and includes clinic and 9-holes. Push
cart or electric cart is extra.
Deadline to register has passed.

A Fun Play 2-person team Event will be held at the Old Del
Monte Golf Club on Saturday at 10:30am. Guests (non-members and Men)
are welcome to play in the Fun Play Event
Team Play: $300 includes both rounds of golf
(Saturday - twosomes: alternate shot, and foursomes: best ball;
Sunday - singles match play), cart, range balls, box lunch on
Saturday, Friday evening buffet, Saturday buffet dinner and
Sunday awards luncheon
Fun Play: $190 includes 1 round of golf, cart,
box lunch, Friday evening buffet, Saturday buffet dinner and Sunday
awards luncheon
Optional fun golf may be available on Saturday or Sunday at
8:00am at Bayonet/Blackhorse with the California Cup
competitors but from different tees.
There is also a special signup for those who would like to
attend the buffets and/or Sunday Awards Luncheon and NOT play
golf.
