Vintner's Golf/Wine/Dine & Charity Golf Event !

Saturday, June 2nd, 9am Shotgun

 Vintner's Golf Course is located at 7901 Solano Avenue in Yountville just off Hwy 29 north of Napa.Wine

At this golf event we will play in a scramble format with fun games (string, free toss, $5 mulligans).  We will also have "most accurate drive" and "closest to the hole" prizes, a goody bag and a great lunch!

We'll be selling raffle tickets for great items, too!

Weather forecast:  high 70s & breezy !

Sorry!  Deadline has passed.

This event benefits our charities: Wardrobe for Opportunity and LPGA-USGA Girls Golf at Diablo Creek Golf Course.

Scramble format - Each team member hits a tee shot and the team selects the best shot and all play from that spot.  All players hit the next shot, the best shot is selected and all players play from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed out.

See you there!

Chapter Championship
Saturday, June 30th at
Blue Rock Springs - East, Vallejo

Fairway
Did you know that the EWGA-NEB Chapter Championship is part of the largest amateur women's golf event in the world?  It's great for golfers of all skill levels - the competition is "flighted", so each player only plays against others with similar handicaps.

There will be 2 winners in each flight (Low Gross and Low Net)

Flights determined by handicap index for stroke play:

Championship: 0.0 - 13.0
1st Flight:     13.1 - 20.0
2nd Flight:    20.1 - 27.0
3rd Flight:     27.1 - 33.0
4th Flight:     33.1 and higher

The stroke play winners and 1st place Scramble Team will advance to the Semi-Final Championship at Hiddenbrooke on July 28th!

USGA Rules of Golf apply.

Requirements:
  • USGA handicap index (including those obtained thru EWGA Golf Life Management system or NCGA);
  • EWGA member (sorry, no guests);
  • Three 18-hole or six 9-hole rounds posted by May 31, 2007;
  • Payment of tournament fees by June 9th
Please note that this deadline is unlikely to be extended due to time requirements at EWGA AQ for submitting required documentation, payment, and handicap verification.

Cost is $105 (includes $35 entry fee).  Compete individually (stroke play) or on a scramble team.

Additional information is on our chapter website on the Events Calendar and News pages.

Volunteer of the Month - April
Cathy Pementell

 Kudos to Cathy Pementell, our eBlast Manager Extraordinaire!

Cathy took up golf about 12 years ago with fellow EWGANEB members Ginny Taylor and Starla Chimienti.  She started playing the the San Leandro Marina 9-hole course and a few years later ventured out to an 18-hole course.  In the 2006 Chapter Championship, she won Low Gross in her flight because of her consistent golf game, knowledge of the rules and course management.

Late last year, Cathy volunteered to be part of our Communications Committee to keep her busy when she retired in 2007.  Well, her loyalty to her job after 30+ years encouraged her to postpone retirement; and her loyalty to EWGANEB also kept her on our Communications Committee.

Thank you, Cathy!

We know she'd rather golf a lot more than just the weekends, but we're thankful for her contributions to our eBlast's new look and exciting articles.
