Saturday, June 2nd, 9am shotgun
Time is running out - register now!
Here is an event that you do not want to miss!  We have 20 members signed-up as of Tuesday and the deadline is here.Wine

Vintner's Golf Course is located in Yountville just off Hwy 29 north of Napa.

At this golf event we will play in a scramble format with fun games (string, free toss, mulligans).  We will also have "most accurate drive" and "closest to the hole" prizes, a goody bag and lots of raffle prizes!  A roast chicken lunch with red potatoes, fresh vegetables, ice tea, wine and dessert is also included.  Don't miss it!

This event benefits our charities: Wardrobe for Opportunity and LPGA-USGA Girls Golf at Diablo Creek Golf Course.

Cost is $88 and the deadline to register is Wednesday, May 23rd.

Scramble format - Each team member hits a tee shot and the team selects the best shot and all play from that spot.  All players hit the next shot, the best shot is selected and all players play from that spot, and so on until the ball is holed out.

Paradise Valley Results

Last Saturday

Paradise Valley clubhouseOur last chapter event was held at Paradise Valley in Fairfield.

Nineteen members enjoyed great weather, free range balls, "Demo Day", new friendships, games and prizes.

Our 4 "Closest to the Hole" Par 3 games resulted in 3 winners including 2 new members!

Mila Heitz cleared the barranca on this 147 yard hole to land 10' 7" from the pin on #3 and won a $30 gift card.

Diane Baca manuevered around bunkers on hole #8  to land 11' 7.5" on this 130 yard hole.  But she didn't stop there!  On hole #15 she cleared a pond to land 10' 3.5" from the pin on this 121 yard hole!
Her award was TWO $30 gift cards!

Cathy Pementell managed to get to 11' 10" from hole #8, the 89 yard hole and was awarded a $30 gift card.

Congratulations to everyone!

Rita Vitaliano had this to say about the event:

"It was so nice to see a lot of new members.  I golfed with 2 of them, Laura Scott and Joanne Segovia, and Donna Soltis (who is not a new member).  It's hard to believe that almost 5 years ago I knew everybody by name, that's because we only had 20 members.  Now we need name tags, because the chapter has grown so much.

"Each year the chapter excels in all aspects, and it's because of the volunteers.  We have a great web site for information about the chapter.  Great events! Great friends! And remember we all have something in common - The Game of Golf.

"Come out and play this summer and meet other members.  You never know, you may very will have something in common with someone you don't even know yet!!
Have a great summer!
Warmest regards" - Rita Vitaliano
Chapter Championship
Saturday, June 30th at
Blue Rock Springs - East, Vallejo

Fairway
Did you know that the EWGA-NEB Chapter Championship is part of the largestt amateur women's golf event in the world?  It's great for golfers of all skill levels - the competition is "flighted", so each player only plays against others with similar handicaps.

Member Naomi Iaccarino says: "The Chapter Championship was the perfect venue to introduce competition to my golf game."  In Naomi's first year in the Championship, she represented NEB at the Finals in Nashville!

Have you signed up for the Championship yet?  Don't forget - you must have posted 3 18-hole or 6 9-hole rounds by May 31, 2007.

Also, all registration forms must be received by June 9, 2007.

Please note that this deadline is unlikely to be extended due to time requirements at EWGA AQ for submitting required documentation, payment, and handicap verification.

Cost is $105.  Compete individually (stroke play) or on a scramble team.

Additional information is on our chapter website on the Events Calendar and News pages.

Questions should be directed to Cindy Maxim at handicaps@ewganeb.org
