Sponsorship Committee
Needs Your Help

 Ladies,

The Sponsorship Committee is looking for volunteers who are willing to put in an hour a week and are not afraid to ask for contributions.  If you feel the desire to help, please contact Marcella at either 925-240-1268 or 925-980-8593 or email sponsorship@ewganeb.org.

At present we are working on "Hole Sponsors" for the Vintner's event on June 2nd.  This is a fun event that helps us support Wardrobe for Opportunity and LPGA Girls Golf at Diablo Creek GC.

Thank you in advance for helping to promote Your local chapter of EWGA.

PGA Free Fitting and Trade-Up Month

To help you get more out of your game, The PGA of America, in partnership with Golf Digest, the PGA Trade-In Network and the PGA.com Value Guide, cordially invite you to participate in PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month.

During the month of April, PGA Professionals around the country will offer free 15-minute expert fitting sessions to ensure that the clubs you currently play with or plan to purchase are the right fit for your game.

Custom fitting will help you have more fund playing golf and shave strokes off your scorecard.

To locate a PGA Professional near you, visit www.PlayGolfAmerica.com

NCGA Competitions

NCGA Members!  Here is your chance to represent the NEB Chapter and have some fun as well!  For the first year we are going to try to field some of the Team sanctioned events held by the NCGA (both team and individual play).  The events are:

1) The Associate Club Championship - Best Two Balls of Four.  We can send 2-person teams for this Best Ball event.  You can be any handicap but you have to play to a max of 18.4.

2) The Associate Club Four Ball Net Championship.  We can send one 2-person team.  Again the max handicap you can play to is 18.4

3) The Senior Four-Ball Net Championship.  One 2-person team must be age 55 by 9/18/07 and again can be any handicap but must play to an 18.4.

4) The Associate Club Net Amateur Championship.  We can send 3 people and this is individual competition not team, and you play to your true handicap.

Please let Pat Block know if you are interest in this opportunity as soon as possible at plblock@comcast.net

If you have questions about what it is like to compete in NCGA events, please email Joyce Glatt at NCGATournaments@ewganeb.org .  She is our chapter expert on NCGA competitions and will gladly answer your questions and point you to many other NCGA opportunities to compete as an individual.

Joyce writes: If anyone is interested in NCGA Individual Tournament where each player registers herself online, they need to read the tournament information in the annual NCGA Blue Book, especially:
  • Attention Tournament Players
  • Tournament Policies
  • Pace of Play

Sponsorship Committee Seeks Hole Sponsors
Vintners - June 2nd Chapter Charity Event

We are planning for our annual Vintner's Charity Event for June 2nd.  Proceeds allow the chapter to continue supporting Diablo Creek Girls Golf and Wardrobe for Opportunity.

Consider having your business or recommend this opportunity to others.   It's a terrific deal for additional visibility and a great way to help the chapter and support two programs that are near and dear to our hearts.

For $50 each sponsor receives:
  • Tee signage and recognition for 1 hole
  • Recognition in the weekly eBlast each of the 3 weeks preceding the event
  • Table space for presenting appropriate promotional literature
If you are interested, contact Marcella de la Cruz at sponsorship@ewganeb.org

Chapter Championship Scramble Teams!
Are you interested?

2006 Scramble Team EWGA members who are interested in joining a scramble team for the 2007 Chapter Championship on June 30th can contact Ginny Taylor at events@ewganeb.org .  She will be collecting names.

Pictured above at Red Hawk GC in Reno is our 2006 Chapter Championship winning scramble team.  Ginny Taylor, Jane Taylorson, Cindy Maxim, and Pat Block.

Scramble teams are a great way to compete.  You play with members of your own chapter against other chapter teams.  The team is required to be made up of members with varying handicaps and a handicap factor is applied.

Seeking Two 9-hole Coordinators
New Chapter Program for Monarch Bay

Looking We are looking for two members who would be willing to share the coordination of a new chapter program for "9-holers" at the Marina course at Monarch Bay in San Leandro.  We hope to do this on the 3rd Sunday of every month, with a 30-minute clinic by John Bearden, golf pro, followed by 9-hole play - all for a cost of $22!

Before this great opportunity can become a reality, we need 2 volunteers to:
  • track web signups from members
  • communicate with John as to the numbers participating each month
  • participate in the clinics and play
  • encourage chapter participants
  • and enjoy being a part of EWGA!
If you are interested in helping, contact Ann Marie McGee, leadership@ewganeb.org
