New Member Orientations are scheduled for this Thursday night,
April 12th at 6pm in Danville and
Wednesday night, April 25th at 6:30pm in El
Cerrito. Attend either one (or both!).
New members already received a personal invitation to attend,
but we thought it would be good to let the entire
membership know about these dates. It's a great
opportunity to learn more about EWGA and the benefits of
membership. All members are welcome.
There will be drinks and appetizers and you are also welcome to
bring a friend (or two) who might be interested in finding out more
about the EWGA Northeast Bay Chapter.
Please RSVP to Margaret Hamersley membership@ewganeb.org as soon as possible if you
will be able to attend either or both gatherings, and whether you
will be bringing a guest. The address will be provided when
you RSVP. |
Special Play Day at
Hiddenbrooke !
First Come - First
Served!
 On
Saturday, April 21st, sixteen spaces have been
reserved for EWGA members to play Hiddenbrooke in
Vallejo for $45 including a cart! Tee time is 10am.
FYI - the greens will have been aerated and the par 4, 14th
hole will be shortened for the month of April.
Deadline is April 11th or when all 16 spaces are filled
(2 spaces left), whichever comes first. (Pay at the
course.)

Next EWGA Golf Event -
Blue Rock Springs - West
April 28th,

 Sign up now for
the next EWGA Golf Event at Blue Rock Springs
-West. We will be playing our Chapter Championship at
this course on June 30th so this will be a
good opportunity to start practicing. Or just come and
enjoy a fun round of golf.
Cost is $56 and includes a cart, prizes, fun, and more.
Deadline to register is next Wednesday, April
18th.

At present we are working on "Hole Sponsors" for the Vintner's
event on June 2nd. This is a fun event that helps us support
Wardrobe for Opportunity.

NCGA Members!
Here is your chance to represent the NEB Chapter and have some fun
as well! For the first year we are going to try to field some
of the Team sanctioned events held by the NCGA (both team and
individual play). The events are:
1) The Associate Club Championship - Best
Two Balls of Four. We can send 2-person teams
for this Best Ball event. You can be any handicap but you have
to play to a max of 18.4.
2) The Associate Club Four Ball Net
Championship. We can send one 2-person team.
Again the max handicap you can play to is 18.4
3) The Senior Four-Ball Net
Championship. One 2-person team must be age 55 by
9/18/07 and again can be any handicap but must play to an
18.4.
4) The Associate Club Net Amateur
Championship. We can send 3 people and this is
individual competition not team, and you play to your true
handicap.

events, please email Joyce Glatt at NCGATournaments@ewganeb.org . She is our
chapter expert on NCGA competitions and will gladly answer your
questions and point you to many other NCGA opportunities to compete

Seeking Two 9-hole
Coordinators
New Chapter
Program for Monarch Bay
 We are
looking for two members who would be willing to share the
coordination of a new chapter program for "9-holers" at the
Marina course at Monarch Bay in San Leandro.
We hope to do this on the 3rd Sunday of every month, with a
30-minute clinic by John Bearden, golf pro,
followed by 9-hole play - all for a cost of $22!
Before this great opportunity can become a reality, we need 2
volunteers to:
- track web signups from members
- communicate with John as to the numbers participating each
month
- participate in the clinics and play
- encourage chapter participants
- and enjoy being a part of EWGA!

Did you know?

Margaret Hamersley at the 2006 Chapter
Championship).
The EWGA Chapter Championship is the first part of the largest
women's amateur golf event in the world. It's fun and a great
way to meet more of your fellow members.
The EWGA rules now require all players in the EWGA Chapter
Championship to have posted at least 6 nine-hole or 3 eighteen-hole
scores this season (by May 31st) in
order to play in the Chapter Championship. Don't forget to
post!

Diablo Creek Girls Golf and Wardrobe for
Opportunity.
