Chapter Championship 2007
Chair Person Needed

Women talking The 2007 Chapter Championship will be held on June 30 on the Blue Rock Springs - west course in Vallejo.  Our Chapter Championship is the first step of the EWGA 2007 Championship which is the largest amateur golf event in the U.S. for women.

We are looking for someone to step up and volunteer to chair this event for this year.  Requirements for this person:
  • passion for golf
  • wants the Northeast Bay Chapter to put their best foot forward
  • great organizational skills
  • wants to learn more about the rules of golf
  • wants to have the experience of running a tournament
  • willing not to play in this year's Chapter Championship

We would also like to find a co-chair who would be willing to volunteer for this year and then chair the championship for next year.

And we would also like to have 3 additional volunteers for the committee.

Everyone - except for the chair person - can play the championship.  This is great experience for charity and business events in your future.  And a great way to help the chapter.

Putting
What's the rule?

While playing in a stroke play league, a player putts her ball into the hole and does not retrieve it.  The next player putts her ball, which goes into the hole, hitting the first player's ball.  Is either of them penalized?

Rule 19 was used.  The first players ball is no longer in play once she has holed out so there is no penalty.  However, if you're the second player, waiting for the ball to be removed may be a good idea.  If your ball hits the first player's ball and bounces out, your ball is still in play and you must continue to putt and count those additional strokes to get the ball back in the hole!
